This is Kaitlyn van Wyk. Writer. Baker. Designer. A quiet observer of small magic, and the soft hand behind everything you see here.

Once upon a quieter hour
Once upon a quieter hour.

A small,
luminous place
by lamplight.

It began the way most of the kindest things do, in a notebook, by lamplight, when the world was sleeping and the kettle was on.

I am Kaitlyn. I am a graphic designer and a social media manager by day, and a poet and a baker when the candles come out. Moonlighttopia is the name I gave the corner where those four lives finally agreed to live together.

I write because there are sentences only my hands seem to find. I bake because butter and time tell the truth. I design because softness deserves a beautiful container. And I keep showing up because, despite everything, Jesus has been my rock, and He keeps handing me words and recipes and reasons.

My family is small and that is the whole point. We sit close, we tell the truth, and we are softer for it.

iii. A note on worth

Soft, never
soft on standards.

I am quiet. I am also clear. The two have always belonged together, no matter what the internet would like to tell you.

A small list of what I stand for.

  1. i.I reply slowly, but I always reply. A 48 hour kindness beats an instant generic.
  2. ii.I keep three retainer seats. When they are taken, the door closes until one opens.
  3. iii.I do not chase. I do not undersell. I do not lower the price to keep the room.
  4. iv.Faith, family, and rest come before any deadline. That has never cost me a client worth keeping.
  5. v.If we work together, I will treat your brand like a candle. I will tend it. I will keep it warm.

2019

The first notebook

A pale blue cover, a list of poems with no titles, and a recipe for cinnamon bread with three things crossed out.

2022

The design desk

I started taking on brand identity work for makers who, like me, wanted the visuals to feel like a held breath.

2024

Moonlighttopia, named

I gave the corner a name. The first poetry collection came out a month later. The Slow Letter began on a Sunday.

2025

The baking books

Two recipe books, both written by hand at the kitchen counter, both featuring brown butter without apology.

2026

This small house

A field guide to the brand, a website built slowly, and a quiet pact to keep showing up softly, on Sundays, forever.
